Tuolumne Tom's Story
Graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder in May 1972; majored in Civil Engineering, minored in Giant Slalom. Spent 4 years in the US Pacific Fleet, based in San Diego, and surfed at Ocean Beach. Attended the Carnival in Rio in 1977. Earned a Marketing MBA from Cal in 1979. Took leave of my senses and moved to Downstate Illinois, working for Caterpillar. Had enough of the Midwest's weather, and returned to California in 1986,. Awar...Expand for more
ded US Patent 4,671,315 in 1987. Jeopardy! Champion June 6th, 1995 (Classmate Matt Dickey was a winner as well in 1994). I told the best fly-fishing story ever heard on that quiz show - I snagged a 28 inch rattlesnake! Retired from Sales & Marketing activities in 2004. Currently the Recreation Correspondent for the Yosemite Gazette. Still ski the black diamond runs at Dodge Ridge, and fish the Class IV rapids on the Lower Tuolumne in the Fall.
